He is the Founder Chairman of Sobha Group of companies. A first generation entrepreneur, he began his professional career by setting up an interior decoration firm in Oman in 1976. Soon, he demonstrated his perfection in Quality and succeeded against stiff international competition. His business empire expanded to the U.A.E., Bahrain and Qatar.

Quickly sensing the potential in the Indian real estate market in need of Quality construction, he founded Sobha Developers in 1995. The company built its foundation on international standards. His clients today include some of the reputed corporate houses like Infosys, WI PRO, HCl, DELL, BOSCH, Taj Hotels, ITC etc. His projects signify a new era - where quality meets consistency, technology meets aesthetics and passion meets perfection. Quality is paramount to Sobha Developers. It is one of the few real estate companies in India accredited with ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001 and OHSAS: 18001 certification.

Sobha has recently launched a joint venture project with the reputed Meydan Group to build Mohammed bin Rashid City in Dubai. The project will be built over 1 ,100 acres and feature a 350,000 square metres water park, the largest crystal lagoon in the world.

He is a self - effacing philanthropist, with a deep-felt commitment to social responsibility. The social initiatives of Sobha are channelized through Sri Kurumba Trust, focusing on economically backward panchayats in Kerala. The beneficiaries are around 2500 'below poverty line' families. Some of the key social projects are (a) Sobha Hermitage, a unique home for senior citizens, (b) Sobha Health Care, a primary health centre, (c) The Sobha Academy, an exclusive educational institution for the underprivileged children, (d) Sobha Icon, another educational initiative and (e) Sobha ocational Training Centre which trains to develop skilled tradesmen from the economically weaker sections.

He was nominated to the Prime Minister's Advisory Council of Overseas Indians. He was awarded the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Puraskar by the President. In 2013, he was bestowed the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' by NDTV Profit.
